Commentary
ΑΧ̣[- -] could be restored as dedication to Achilles (in the Dative or Genitive), or alternatively as a theophoric name, e.g. Achillodoros, which could be in the Nom. and followed by a deity's name in the Dative. The placement on the lip of a cup is typical for dedications, but also to sympotic inscriptions. Less likely it is an ownership inscription - these more often appear on underside of cups.
